I have used this pub often in the past before going on to football at Portman Road, Ipswich, being just outside Ipswich, but a short drive into town. There was much building work going on to extend the accommodation facilities and provide more amenities. It is very close to Westerfield station on the Ipswich to Lowestoft and Ipswich to Felixstowe lines. There is also a large car park so you can choose your means of transport.

Food has always been excellent and on this occasion, I ordered Chicken Thai Red Curry. I was not disappointed. That was washed down with a pint of Adnams bitter, one of my favourites,
